MP3 to Video
Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube don't let you post a bare audio file — every one of them requires a video. If all you have is an MP3, you need something visual to go with it before you can share it anywhere that matters.
Why you can't just post the MP3
These platforms are built entirely around video playback. Feed and story formats, autoplay, captions, thumbnails — none of it works for a raw audio file, so every one of them requires you to attach at least a static image, if not full motion, before a post is accepted.
The simplest fix: a spinning record video
Rather than a single static image sitting behind your audio for the entire clip, a spinning-disc animation gives the video actual motion — your cover art rotating like a record on a turntable — for very little extra effort. It reads as more polished than a plain waveform bar or a still image, and it's become the standard way independent artists convert a song into something postable.
How to convert an MP3 to video with Waxify
- Upload your MP3 (or WAV) file into the Audio panel
- Upload cover art or other artwork for the spinning disc
- Trim the audio to the section you want, if you don't need the whole track
- Pick an export size to match where you're posting
- Export — the result is a proper MP4 with your audio embedded, ready to upload anywhere
What makes the output different from a screen recording
A screen recording of a spinning animation compresses badly, drifts out of sync with the audio over a long clip, and often runs at a choppy frame rate. Waxify renders the video server-side with FFmpeg instead, compositing the frames and audio together directly, so the export is a clean, properly encoded MP4 with audio that stays locked to the animation for the full length of the track.
Good for more than music
Podcasters, DJs sharing a mix, and anyone with an audio-only clip and no video camera footage to pair with it can use the same process — upload the audio, pick some art, export a video.
